Happy Easter

I hope everyone had a great Easter. Ours was very low key as Mason still doesn't understand the Easter Bunny. We are not yet involved in a church as a family so we didn't get special outfits to wear to church on Easter Sunday. We do beleive in Jesus and know the meaning of Easter and will share it with Mason when he is older. For now, it was just another day with some special treats first thing in the morning.  I will leave you with a few photos of Mason with his Easter basket from the bunny!

100th Blog Post Celebration

In honor of my 100th blog post, we are celebrating in Las Vegas. Yes, that's right! We are headed to Sin City. No, it isn't to celebrate the 100th post milestone in blogging. We are going on vacation during Dawn's spring break. It is a vacation for just the two of us. Mason is not quite old enough for the slot machines or the roulette tables so GiGi is coming up to stay with him. This will be the first time we have left him with anyone overnight since he has been born. I get sad every time I think about having to leave him but I know he will be fine. He doesn't get to see his GiGi very often so this will be a great opportunity for the two of them to spend some quality time together. I know they will have a blast at home and we will have a blast in Las Vegas!

We absolutely love Las Vegas. We have been every other year since we have been together. We bought a timeshare several years ago at The Grandview at Las Vegas so are going to check out our home away from home! One of the advantages of timeshare ownership is the fact that a week in a 5 star resort only cost us $189 for 7 days, 6 nights! We love to travel so it made tons of sense for us to purchase a timeshare. Mason was born the year after we purchased our first one so we decided to upgrade to a 2 bedroom and relocated to Orlando since we will most likely be going to Disney many times over the next 5 - 10 years so know it will more than pay for itself during his childhood. Until then, it will be losts of happy traveling in style!

Until next time......

20 Months Update

I cannot believe that my little guy is only four months away from being 2 years old. How did that happen? Where has the time gone? So what is my almost 2 year old up to these days. For starters, he is a smart little guy. He can identify all of the major colors, he knows his shapes, can count to 6 with help, of course and can draw pretty good circles. His vocabulary grows every day. He can often put three words together when describing certain things. For example, he says "big, mack truck" when he sees a transfer truck or "moo tow eat" when he sees a cow! Yes, we live a little out in the country so seeing cows is a daily treat for us. From what our friends and parents tell us, Mason is pretty smart for 20 months. We hope this continues and he will always be interested in learning!

This week's new words are "I sorry". He has apparantly learned that from day care which makes me wonder if he is often having to say he is sorry for something! Hmmm... At any rate, it is the cutest thing eVeR! The other morning I was watching and listening to him on the video monitor and he was playing with his stuffed pup pup! He poked the puppy in the eye and said, Ouch! I sorry then hugged the puppy tight. Can you say adorable?

We have to be much more careful of what we say around him because he is like a little sponge. The other day, we were in the car and car pulled out in front of us causing us to have to slam on brakes. Dawn blew the horn at them and they all put their hands out of the windows and flipped us off. I said, "rednecks". Mason immediately said "redneck". I laughed out loud and he said it again. We quickly got his attention with something else and he quit saying it! So far, he hasn't repeated it! Let's hope that one doesn't come back to bite us in the future!

Mason really enjoys looking at books and listening to us read to him. He identifies pretty much everything we ask him in the stories we read. He loves to color and "draw". He loves watching Sesame Street and his Elmo movies. We don't let him watch too much tv but when he does it is usually something relatively educational. Mason loves listening to music as well. With mine and Dawn's different taste in music, he is getting an exposure to a wide array of music! There is so much more that Mason is doing at 20 months but I know this is getting a bit long so I'll write more soon.

Until next time......

Finally Made a Decision

After a month of shopping for just the right play structure for Mason, we finally made a decision! We visited four or five different places, searched online, read tons of reviews and talked to a bunch of people and finally chose the one above from Superior Playthings! They had the best variety, the best prices and the best delivery/installation fees. By searching around and taking our time, we ended up saving over a $1000 on this one. The only negative thing was their installation dates were 3 to 4 weeks out. That in itself says something about the popularity of their structures! Now we wait. And wait. And wait! I am so ready for it to arrive so we can start having tons of fun playing on it.

Until next time......
