I have an amazing child!

I have always been told that being a mom is the most incredible thing you will ever be. I didn't fully believe that until I became a mom. Now I know what everyone was talking about. The last 18 months have been the most amazing months ever. Mason is growing up so quickly and gets cuter and cuter every day. He says a new word and develops a new expression almost daily. He is such a quick learner too. Here are a few new words that he is saying now: nonion (onion), peppa (pepper), nif (knife), fork, poon (spoon), jack (jacket), hum (home), bed, and soap. We have also been working on people's names with him. He can say most of his friends names from daycare. They are Jack (Jackson), Ovah (Nova), Bremmen (Brendan), Emeson (Emerson) and Anlyn (Anna Lynn).  He knows all of his teachers names at daycare as well. They are May Bef (Mary Beth), MarrGie (Margie) Miama (Miah) and onna (Tonya).

Mason knows most of his shapes and can say those too. One of his teachers told us the other day that he evens knows what an octagon is. He will count to 5 with us most times. When he gets to five he claps his hands and smiles really big. He only says A B Ceee so far but we are working on those too. I cannot believe how much he is learning so quickly. I have been told he is really smart. I thought so but of course I have a tendency to be biased!

Well as usual I could continue to go on and on about how wonderful he is and all of the cool things he is doing but I will end here. I'll be back later to write a few more things.

Until next time......

Future Chef

Over the past couple of weeks Mason has really been in to playing with the pots and pans. He pulls all of them out a couple times a day. When he is finished pulling all of them out, he usually sits down and "stirs" in them like he is cooking. He has learned to "cook" from Dawn. She is the one that cooks in our family. Each evening while she is preparing dinner for us, Mason is usually on her hip taking it all in. When she is not holding him and cooking, he is usually standing on a stool beside her watching what she is doing. It is great watching the two of them do their magic in the kitchen. Maybe he will continue to enjoy being in the kitchen and may one day grow up to be a chef. Who knows! Dawn could be training Mason to be the next Emeril Lagasse. Below is a video that we took of Mason doing his thing in the kitchen. Enjoy!!

Until next time......

Golf Lessons - Again

A couple years ago I decided that I was finally going to give golf a try. I took a few lessons, went to the driving range a few times and then headed out to the golf course. Not so bad on my first real round but still had a long way to go. Played 10 - 12 times that year and then found out I was pregnant so haven't played in quite some time; however, I am determined to get back out on the course this year so plan to dust off my clubs, take a few more lessons and hope for the best. This is a real challenge for me. It isn't very often that I get involved in something that I am not sure that I can be good at. I have always been a pretty good athlete and am very competitive so not being good at golf has really been difficult for me.

Being athletic and competitive are traits that I hope Mason will acquire. For the most part they have really paid off for me. I hope however he does a better job at accepting that one cannot be great at EVERYTHNG! I have lots of athletic dreams for Mason and am looking forward to his little league days! Haven't quite figured out what I will do if he doesn't like sports. Not going to think about that for now! :-)

Anyway, I will post an update to my golf status after I have gotten the first couple layers of dust off my clubs!

Until next time......
