Spending the Day With Joshua and Jonathan

Today we went to Concord to spend the day with Joshua and Jonathan. It was great seeing them. Mason had a great time playing with his cousins. Joshua rode Mason around on his 4-wheeler and they had a blast. Jonathan shared his cool toys with Mason and was a good sport on the sit-n-spin. Me, Stacey and Eric got a few games of ladder golf in while the boys took naps. It was a fun day. Below are a few pictures from our day together.

Happy Birthday Dawn!

Happy Birthday Honey. Hope you have a great day. Sorry we didn't get to see you first thing this morning on your birthday but we needed to sleep a couple of hours longer than you. :-) Mason had fun "signing" your card this morning. He got really crazy with the marker and got a little on his arms. He wanted to color some more but we had to go to school. I hope you know how much we love you. You are a wonderful partner and a wonderful mom to Mason! Wishing you a happy day.

Until next time......

Best Purchase Ever!

When we were doing all of our shopping getting ready for Mason, there were many things I just couldn't live without. I made sure we had all of the cool things like the ultimate crib sheets, the diaper champ, the wipe warmer, etc. etc. The one thing that I didn't think was necessary is the item that I now cannot even imagine not having. That item is the video monitor with the 7 inch screen. We had purchased a regular set of audio monitors and used them for the first three months after Mason was born. They started having a lot of static in them and feedback that was quite annoying so we took them back. A friend of ours had recommended getting the video monitors and I am glad I did. See, I was such a freak about whether Mason was breathing and was ok. Every mother's fear, for sure. With this video monitor, I was able to see AND hear him. I no longer had to run upstairs to make sure he was alright. This really helped me relax a little and not feel like I had to run upstairs every time I heard a peep out of him. Of course I didn't have to run upstairs at every peep but I found myself doing it more often than I care to admit now.

Tonight it took Mason a little longer than normal to go to sleep so I enjoyed 15 minutes or so of watching him play in his crib. He played with each of his stuffed animals, crawled from one end of the crib to the other, pulled the breathable bumpers down several times, stuck his arms in and out of the crib, stood up and looked around his room and then finally laid down and stayed still long enough to fall asleep. I love watching him. He has no idea that we can see him which makes it even better.

Not sure why I felt the need to write about my video monitor but I did!

Until next time.....

What Has Mason Been Up To Lately!

Over the last couple of weeks, Mason has really started to say more words. Here are the words that he is saying at 13 months: Mom ma, da da, ball, tuck (truck), birdie, nanna (banana), no, tar (car), Pop, spida (spider), "was that" (what's that), duck, and book.

Mason is starting to enjoy looking at books and listening to us read to him especially at bedtime. We read several touch and feel books just before he goes to bed at night.

He loves playing with his tractors and trucks, stacking cups, shape sorting blocks, balls, tiger xylophone and moo cow pillow pet!

For the most part, Mason has always been a good eater. He has not been a fan of meat so far but will pretty much eat anything we give him.

He loves taking a bath, playing outside, climbing up the stairs, playing with the pots and pans, vacuuming and watching baby Einsteins. He loves the hair dryer and for us to chase him around the house. He is such a happy little toddler!

Mason has 6 teeth so far. He really likes brushing his teeth with his electric tigger tooth brush. Before, Tigger, he would not let me brush his teeth!

Mason moved into the toddler class at day care a couple weeks ago. He is doing well at daycare. He loves Mrs. Mary Beth, Mrs. Margie and Ms. Leslie and they love him! He still isn't sleeping very long for them but that's ok cause he is sleeping very well for us right now!

Check back in a few weeks to find out what else our little man has been up to!

Until next time......
