Great Mother's Day

Mother's Day was a great day. Mason let us sleep in until 7:45 and then it was rise and shine! I went up to get Mason as I do every morning but this morning we had a little project to finish before going downstairs.  Mason had to "sign" his Mother's Day card for his momma (Dawn). He was excited about getting to color so early in the morning. He was too cute looking at me with this look on his face like wow, I've never gotten to color in the crib! After we finished decorating the card, we headed downstairs to exchange presents. Mason handed Dawn her bag of presents and then he handed me mine. He helped open each gift and enjoyed showing us what was in the bags.  Mason gave Dawn a candle and an outfit and he gave me a candle and a birdfeeder.
Dawn's mom and her husband were visiting with us so we also gave Nana her Mother's Day gifts and then enjoyed a wonderful breakfast together. After breakfast, Nana and Big G had to leave to go our to great grandmothers for lunch and Dawn had to leave to go visit her father in the hospital so Mason and I spent the rest of the morning and the afternoon together.  We went on a little field trip to Lowes (the home improvement store) to have a little fun on the lawn mowers. Yep, that's right. It's the best free field trip in the world for little boys that love lawn mowers. After about an hour, we decided to walk around and look at the bird feeders and all of the cool yard ornaments. Mason had a blast picking each one up and giving them a kiss before putting them back down. It was awesome watching him explore.

It was time for lunch so we headed back home to eat. After lunch, we both took a nap. After our naps, we played outside on the play structure for a couple of hours until Dawn got home. We then we out to eat for dinner. It was an awesome day.

I hope you had a great day too.

Until next time......
